    ADA Service - Support Animals in the Workplace

    Join us for breakfast and a first hand look at accomodating a service support animal in the workplace!  This program will explore several aspects of having a support animal in the workplace: Chad Franz, Branch Manager at CoWorx Staffing and his service dog, Judy, will be on hand to speak about the importance of accomodating a service support animal in the workplace from an employee's point of view; CoWorx Staffing Manager, Jennifer Nielsen will give us a perspective as an employer accomodating a support animal in the workplace; Kevin Lambert of NEADS ("NEADS Inc:, formally knowns as National Education for Assistance Dog Services and Dogs for Deaf and Disabled Americans) will provide insight on how service dogs are chosen, trained, and provided to eligible recipients; and last but not least Brian Bouchard from Sheehan Phinney will give the legal side of ADA and how support animals can be considered a reasonable accomodation.

    Due to the length and agenda for this meeing, it will promptly start right after opening announcements at 8:30.  Meeting registration will be from 8:00-8:30.

    Chad C. Franz & Judy, Branch Manager – CoWorx Staffing Services & Service Dog

    Chad Franz enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in August 2002. While in the Marines, Chad was stationed and deployed to 39 countries in various roles from Engineer Equipment Operator, Military Police, and Career Recruiter. Chad was medically retired after 16 years of honorable service in late 2018. That same year, Chad started his next career with CoWorx Staffing Services as a salesperson in the Southern New Hampshire area. In July 2019, he received a promotion to Branch Manager and currently works in the Westford, Massachusetts Branch. Chad partnered with his service dog, Judy, on September 17, 2018. Judy is a 3-year-old English Lab and loves meeting new people and assisting Chad with his combat-related disability.  Chad and his wife, Alexis, have three children: Adriana – 12, Gabriel – 5, and Kennedy – 4 months.  They enjoy camping, hiking, and spending time together. Chad also serves as an elected member on his town’s budget committee.

    Jennifer Nielsen is an Area Manager, Sales and Operations with CoWorx Staffing Services. CoWorx Staffing Services works with clients and field talent to deliver administrative, call center, light industrial and direct hire staffing solutions throughout the United States. Jennifer began working with CoWorx Staffing Services as a Branch Manager in 2008 and with increased responsibilities now oversees multiple branch locations in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. With over 17 years in the staffing industry and an extensive knowledge of the job market and workplace trends, Jennifer is viewed as a trusted leader within the organization and with her customers. Jennifer enjoys working with her colleagues to ensure we are providing field talent and customers the best experience possible. Jennifer is a Certified Staffing Specialist and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from Illinois State University. When not working Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband Scott and her two sons, Finn and Kade Henry.  

    (No picture provided) KEVIN LAMBERT - currently serves as the Program Development Administrator at NEADS, World Class Service Dogs in Princeton Massachusetts. Mr. Lambert focuses primarily on the Service Dogs for Veterans programs. He serves as the first point of contact, interviews all potential Veteran clients, and works with Veterans throughout their time as NEADS clients. Mr. Lambert also assists with further developing existing programs and developing new programs for the organization.  Mr. Lambert served as the Director of Special Populations Programs and Services for the Massachusetts Department of Veterans’ Services from 2007 to 2015.  Mr. Lambert assisted with the creation, implementation, and managed several community-based Peer Support programs for Veterans and their families. The programs focused in many areas to include Suicide Prevention, Housing First, Supportive Housing, Jail Diversion, and Re-entry from incarceration facilities across the Commonwealth. Mr. Lambert served in the United States Army as an Infantryman From 2005-2008 and participated in over 600 combat patrols and missions as a light machine gunner in IRAQ from August 2005 through December 2006. Mr. Lambert has an Associate in Science Human Services degree as well as a Certificate in Alcohol/Drug Abuse Counseling from Northern Essex Community College.

    Attorney Brian J. Bouchard-  Working in restaurants throughout high school, college, and law school taught Brian one unforgettable lesson: client service is job one. Since joining Sheehan Phinney in 2013, that mantra has been a driving force behind Brian’s legal practice. Today, as a litigator focused on labor and employment, land use, and construction issues, Brian is driven by client service and seeks to offer practical, business focused guidance to the legal questions his clients raise. In the Labor and Employment field particularly, Brian counsels and represents companies through all manner of complexities, from claims involving discrimination, retaliation, and wage and hour violations to questions involving employee management, executive contracts, employee mobility, and legal compliance. Brian has written and lectured on legal topics throughout the Granite State and New England, and he is never unimpressed by the complex issues facing employers, businesses, and individuals on a daily basis.
